the EXPertise you can trust

Patient, everyday tech help

The patient tech help you've been looking for.

Phones, computers, printers, Wi-Fi, even the TV — I'll sort out what isn't working and show you how, at your pace and without the jargon.

In-home visits across the Waterloo Region · phone & remote help too · English & Mandarin.

How I help

No jargon. No rushing. No making you feel silly.

Most tech help is too fast, too technical, or too impatient. I go at your speed, explain things in plain words, and make sure you can do it yourself next time.

Plain language, always

I explain what I'm doing in words that make sense — no acronyms, no showing off, no assumptions.

At your pace

We go as slowly as you'd like, and every question is welcome. That's the whole point of asking someone patient.

You stay in control

It's your device and your data. I show you how; I don't quietly take over or change things you didn't ask for.

What I can help with

From "it just stopped working" to "keep me safe online."

Everyday devices

Phones, computers, printers, Wi-Fi and the internet, smart TVs — setting them up, fixing what's broken, and learning to use them with confidence.

Staying safe online

Spotting scams and dodgy emails, and hands-on help setting up a password manager so your accounts are genuinely secure — not a sticky note by the screen.

Community sessions

Friendly group sessions and regular volunteering with local care homes and community centres — tech confidence, shared.

Things people ask me about

No problem is too small.

Setting up a new phone Email that won't behave The printer won't print Wi-Fi keeps dropping Video calls with family Spotting scams Password manager setup Backing up photos

Helped by Albert

A teacher by trade, so explaining things clearly and patiently is literally the job. I work with everyone from schoolkids to seniors — and no question is ever a silly one.

  • ◆A teacher first — patient, plain-language explaining is what I do all day.
  • ◆Works with all ages — comfortable and unhurried with people who don't consider themselves "tech people."
  • ◆A regular community volunteer — including sessions at local care homes.
  • ◆Bilingual — English & Mandarin — help in either language.

Run a care home or community group?

I volunteer to run friendly, hands-on tech sessions for residents and members — from video-calling family to staying safe online. I'd love to help.
